Our science topic is plants this half term. We decided to use our senses to explore the different parts of a flower. We created detailed observational drawings of some common flowers. We then labelled them to create a labelled diagram. 
 

In DT we were set the challenge of creating a purse to collect shells from the beach.

We love our Monday afternoons in the forest. We love being out in the fresh air surrounded by nature. 
 

There is always lots of get our teeth stuck into. We build dens, create mud soup, swing from the rope swing, work collaboratively and listen to the birds

We had so much fun using the torches to investigate shadows. We made our flown hand shadow puppets and created a shadow puppet theatre.

In science this half term we are learning about humans. Today we started off our topic answering the question "what is a human?" The children came up with some amazing ideas and we noted them all down on a massive piece of paper. 

We had a great school trip to Borwick Hall. We spent time canoeing, building fires and enjoying being outside!

In science today we tested some different materials to see which once would be the best for a visor. It needed to shade the astronauts eyes from the light. We used the data loggers to test how much light each material let through.

During our English lesson this week we pretended to be reporters to interview the characters for our story. We had great fun using microphones to ask our questions. The children came up with some brilliant questions I think we have some budding reporters in our midst. 

We have had a brilliant week during science week. Today we have been investigating sound by seeing how long we could make our voices travel using plastic tubes.
