We had a great first Christmas craft club on Monday. We started creating our brilliant crafts that we will finish in the next few weeks.
We ended our session with a Christmas story read by the fabulous Gracie.
During topic week we learnt about Vincent Van Gogh and we looked at his famous painting 'Starry Night'. We then tried to create our own versions using his style of painting.

We used the tubes to make a really long pipe for the water to run through. It was really tricky to make sure we lined up the holes so the water could get through.
We had such an exciting day today, it was our robot day! Our topic this term is robots so we thought we would kick it off in style. We made robot face biscuits, learnt a robot song, created a split pin robot and even did some robot dancing in PE.
We decided to try our hand at baking our own wedding cupcakes. We chose vanilla with strawberries to decorate the tops.
They were really yummy- we will certainly be making these again!
We had a brilliant day at Brockholes yesterday. We got immersed in the forest school ethos by building dens, painting with mud and wooden crafts. We even had time to spot a mini east or two!
Over Easter the children were set the challenge to create their very own scarecrow. We had been reading 'The Scarecrows Wedding' by Julia Donaldson and felt inspired.
We had so much fun outside today. Miss Woodward's Dad made us an amazing pallet house. We have been creating a police station. We also had a house in the chipping pit and a pirate ship on the rug!
Year 1 are working so hard today writing their cold task. As part of talk for writing we do a cold task at the beginning of each topic so we can then look back on at the end to see what we have learnt.
Today our cold task was to rewrite the story of Goldiloks and the Three Bears.
Today we discovered we had an active crime scene in our classroom. Someone had broken into our garden centre and stolen our prize seeds. Our job now it follow the clues to help find the thief.
