Welcome to Jaguars Class
Our Year 3 and 4 children are taught in Jaguars Class.
The class teacher is Mrs Astley supported by Mrs Kerr, our class teaching assistant.
Tigers Class has a two year rolling programme in order to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum 2014. We have designed a Catforth curriculum which covers all subjects in the National Curriculum in a creative, exciting and meaningful way.

The lessons in Tigers class are varied and can consist of drama, writing and practical activities that progress children's learning in a fun and motivating way. We send home a topic map every half term so that parents know what we are learning about in school.
Reading
It is really important that the children try to read at home as much as possible. Reading books are changed regularly so please make sure that your child brings their reading book to school every day. We expect all children will practise their reading every day with an adult and to discuss what they have read. Please take the time to write a positive comment in the reading diary so that we know your child has practised and how well they have done.
Homework
Homework is provided to support your child's learning by practicing key skills which will progress their learning.
Spellings Spelling lists are uploaded onto your child's class Dojo profile and onto Spelling Shed. The children will be able to practice and play games using these spellings to ensure that they are confident. A weekly spelling test will track your child's progress.
Mathematics Children will be set mathematics homework that will support their learning in school. This will consist of multiplications practice, number bond recognition and where appropriate written work. Often children will be signposted to websites where these skills can be practiced. Tasks will be set on your child's portfolio on class Dojo.
