Welcome to Jaguars Class.
Our Year 3 and 4 children are taught in Jaguars Class.
Ms Mallett is our class teacher and Miss Burrow is our teaching assistant. Mrs Atkinson works with us in the mornings.
Please see our class Dojo page for weekly updates. You can also message Ms Mallett using the Class Dojo app with any queries you may have.
Our Curriculum
Jaguars have a two-year rolling programme while also choosing topics to meet the needs of our school. Our curriculum map for both years can be found here with details of which topics are covered each term in each subject. We also send home curriculum information each term so that parents and carers know what we are learning about in a little more detail and can support learning at home.
Jaguars Class
Homework
Homework is given out on a Friday and needs to be completed on a Wednesday via EdShed.
The children's homework is set on EdShed and is usually be based around times tables and spelling practise as we believe these are key skills. Please feel free to come and ask for help at any time if you are finding anything tricky.
Reading homework: We want all children in Jaguars Class to read regularly outside of school and develop fluency and a love of reading. It is really important that the children read at home as much as possible. We request that parents and carers please sign their children's reading record and leave a comment (e.g. about what they have read, how they read, how they’re enjoying the book, any words they struggled with etc) at least 3-4 times a week to confirm they have been reading. If the children read five times in a week, we will give them a Star Reader certificate. Please bring the reading record in daily so that this can be checked.
Children area able to borrow one or two books from our school library each week. Please encourage your child to read these and bring them back each week to be changed.
Spellings homework: Spelling lists are uploaded onto EdShed. The children will be able to practise and play games using these spellings to ensure that they are confident. A weekly spelling test will track your child's progress.
