Leighton Hall 2023

Observational Drawings of Flowers

Our science topic is plants this half term. We decided to use our senses to explore the different parts of a flower. We created detailed observational drawings of some common flowers. We then labelled them to create a labelled diagram.

DT sewing

In DT we were set the challenge of creating a purse to collect shells from the beach. 
 

We learnt how to thread a needle and perform a running stitch. We first practiced on a prototype (a butterfly with ready made holes). Then we cut out templates out of felt to create our end product.

Forest School

We love our Monday afternoons in the forest. We love being out in the fresh air surrounded by nature. 
 

There is always lots of get our teeth stuck into. We build dens, create mud soup, swing from the rope swing, work collaboratively and listen to the birds
