Spring 1

We have had so much fun this term! Take a look at some of the things we got up to:

Bee- Bots

We have loved learning how to use the Bee-Bots. We learnt how to give the Bee-Bots commands, giving it clear instructions in a sequence. We learnt how to program the Bee-Bot to reach a destination and how to debug instructions when they went wrong.

English, Science and Geography

In Geography we learnt about our local area. We went on walks in our local area, identified our routes on the map and identified places we knew! Our very own Traveller Ted (a teddy bear who lives in our class) was lucky enough to stay with various children throughout the weeks. He visited many places such as the swimming pool, the park, Billy Bobs and even the gym! We plotted pictures of the various locations lucky Traveller Ted got to visit. We then decided to write a story, based on the original 'Meerkat Mail' about Traveller Ted and included lots of postcards back to Tiger's class.

In Science we learnt about different animals, classifying these into different groups such as mammal, birds, reptiles, amphibians etc and their needs for survival. We then wrote a non-chronological report all about Meerkats!

To celebrate and bring all our learning to life, we had a very exciting exotic animal encounter in school. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience!

Bird Feeders

Our school were taking part in the Great British Bird Watch! We learnt about lots of different birds in assemblies and the features and structure of a birds and what they need to survive in our Science lessons.

To encourage birds onto our school grounds we decided to make bird feeders!
