Children and staff came to school looking as if they had all forgotten to get dressed for the day on Friday, when we all arrived in our pyjamas with our teddies and favourite bedtime stories!
Every class had their own special activities to champion reading throughout the day. Class1 had hot chocolate and scones they had baked themselves whilst Class 3 had bedtime cookies and milk. Class 2 watched part of the film Matilda based on the book by Roald Dahl, the author they are studying at the moment, about a little girl who loves to read. We were also lucky enough to have some parents come into school to read to the children, thank you to them.
One of the highlights of the day came in the afternoon when the children mixed with one another from different classes to share their favourite stories. It was a real pleasure to see our children enjoying reading so much! Well done everyone.
