English

During black history month we wrote biographies about inspirational black people. We learnt a text about Marcus Rashford. In one of lessons, we recalled facts from the text and practised using important language while recalling important information during mock interviews.

History - Mayan artefacts

While learning about the Maya civilisation, the children considered the reliability of sources and which were primary or secondary. They found artefacts around the classroom and then used them to sort statements into true or false groups.

Forest School - Homes for hedgehogs

After considering how the cold weather might effect local wildlife and what those animals might need, the children created hedgehog homes. They offered shelter, were close to food and camouflaged for safety.

Science - Teeth and Digestion

As part of our teeth and digestion topic, the children did some investigating and practical activities. The children set up an investigation using eggs to represent teeth. They put them in a variety of liquids and observed the effects of each of the liquids on the egg surfaces. Later, the children did a practical activity to consolidate their learning about the digestive system. It was very messy but lots of fun and helped the children recall the parts and functions of the digestive system.
