Spring Into Action

Using IPads and laptops

Fossil art

After learning about Mary Anning, the children produced some beautiful textile art that was inspired by fossils. Firstly they investigated the shapes of fossils by creating images from natural objects. They then used pencil to create lines to mimic fossil shapes. Their textile pieces were created by dying fabric using ice dying. Year three used paste resist to create fossil shapes while year two used stencils. Extra details were added by stitching and gluing details such as fabric and buttons.

The History of Victorian Holidays

The children looked at a mystery suitcase, photographs and artefacts to make deductions, predictions and to share prior knowledge about living and holidaying in Victorian times.

Creating Structures in Forest Schools

The children tested different structures. They they made playground equipment. They had to make it sturdy.
