We had a fun filled day celebrating reading by doing a variety of different activities. The costumes the children and staff wore were amazing!
Although it was a near impossible task we chose a winner from each class. Sophie who came as the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland was the winner in Class One, Tommy dressed as Stig from Stig of the Dump was the winner from Class Two and Rachel looking splendid as Paddington Bear was the winner in Class 3. They each received a £5 book token.
Mr Cameron, who came dressed as Long John Silver, was voted by the children as the best dressed adult. Thank you to all the staff who made a huge effort to dress up as book characters!
All the children took home their £1 World Book Day voucher, for details of the books you can exchange the voucher for please look on the official website http://www.worldbookday.com. The details for the chance to win a trip to London to see a musical version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory can also be found on there.
Readathon has begun and the closing date for our Readathon is Wednesday 26th April, the children are to set their own reading challenge and raise sponsorship money for seriously ill children. For more details please look on their official website http://www.readathon.org .
